Pink Karate for Breast Cancer Awareness 2015

We are proud to announce that our Pink Karate Belt Campaign for the month of October was a huge success and that we managed to raise £400 for breast cancer awareness!

£260 was through donations by our students in class which will be donated to the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity www.helenrollason.org.uk.

£140 was through belt purchases at Pink Karate – Breast Cancer Awareness of which all proceeds are donated by them to Irish Cancer Charities.

We wanted to get every single student who took part in this announcement photo but unfortunately due to various factors we still missed a few so we will post an updated photo with the remaining students later if possible.

Thank you to all of our students and friends and families who supported us last month. We look forward to doing it again next year!

The event will run according to WKF rules with some slight modifications, although please refer to the information pack for full details including compulsory equipment for kumite.

Tournament Officials

We kindly ask all attending clubs to provide at least 2 officials to help out for kata/kumite judging and table officiating, if you can provide more, this would be even better of course. If there are plenty of officials between all the clubs, then we can rotate them throughout the day so they’re not overworked and to keep the judging as fair and unbiased as possible for the competitors. Officials will be provided with lunch plus free tea & coffee throughout the day for their services. There is a section on the entry form for you to write down your officials details. We thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Grading Success in Japan for SRK instructors

Sensei Richard, Sensei Caroline and Sensei Martin in Omagari

SRK Chief instructor Sensei Richard Hang Hong, along with Sensei Caroline Hang Hong and Sensei Martin Lawrence recently returned from Japan where they trained with Hanshi Seiichi Fujiwara (8th Dan) in Omagari at the Goju Ryu Karatedo Seiwakai week long seminar and numerous karate masters in Beppu, Oita at the Japan Karatedo Federation (JKF) Goju Kai seminar.

Sensei Richard and Sensei Caroline both attempted their gradings at each seminar and we are pleased to announce that they were successful in each of their respective tests. Sensei Richard passed his next grade of Yondan (4th Dan) and Sensei Caroline had her Nidan (2nd Dan) grade ratified.

Congratulations from all of us at Seitou Ryu Karate on their grading success.
