2015 Inter Dojo Bike Ride Fundraiser

Our Grays dojos are in need of new training mats so that we can train safely. We need at least 100 mats to cover the floor area so to raise our target of £2,280, we will cycle a 35 mile route, passing all of the Seitou Ryu Karate dojos from Chelmsford to Grays.

This event is open to everyone. You do not have to be a member of Seitou Ryu Karate. So if you want to come for a ride to help us raise funds for new mats you’re welcome to join us either for part or the whole route!

Please note only competent riders can participate in the full ride (35 miles). You must be able to ride at least 10-12 miles in an hour or less. This will keep the group journey time to a minimum. As much as we enjoy everyone’s company and would love everyone to join in the full ride, slower riders make it very challenging to complete the journey in a reasonable time.

If you would still like to participate but can’t ride at this pace you can join in with the second group who will be starting from Wickford dojo instead.

The Cycle Route

→Chelmsford to Wickford = 11 Miles

→Wickford to South Ockendon = 18 Miles

→South Ockendon to West Thurrock = 4 Miles

→West Thurrock to Grays = 2 Miles

The event will run according to WKF rules with some slight modifications, although please refer to the information pack for full details including compulsory equipment for kumite.

Tournament Officials

We kindly ask all attending clubs to provide at least 2 officials to help out for kata/kumite judging and table officiating, if you can provide more, this would be even better of course. If there are plenty of officials between all the clubs, then we can rotate them throughout the day so they’re not overworked and to keep the judging as fair and unbiased as possible for the competitors. Officials will be provided with lunch plus free tea & coffee throughout the day for their services. There is a section on the entry form for you to write down your officials details. We thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] or call Richard Hang Hong on 07899 827 476.
